Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what we need to give you a useful product, nothing else. We do not sell your data, ever. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing the address at the bottom.

What we collect

  • Account info from Google sign-in: your email, name, and avatar. We never see your Google password.
  • Profile you fill in: username, B-school, batch year, target firms, case interests, bio. All optional except username.
  • Practice activity: cases you start and complete, chat transcripts with the AI interviewer, dimension scores, points, and badges earned.
  • Server logs: standard request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) kept for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Discarded after 30 days.

What we do with it

  • Run the AI interviewer. Your messages are sent to Google Gemini or Groq (the LLM providers we use) to generate replies.
  • Show your profile and rank to anyone with the link, if you have the "Public profile" toggle on. You can switch it off in profile settings.
  • Compute the leaderboard. Only users with a public profile and at least one completed case appear.
  • Send you the welcome email after sign-up. We never send marketing emails.

Who we share data with

  • Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication.
  • Vercel runs the website and edge functions.
  • Google AI Studio and Groq process your chat messages to generate AI replies. Per their terms, neither provider uses free-tier traffic to train models.
  • That's it. We do not share data with advertisers, analytics aggregators, or any third party for marketing.

Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie for keeping you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous page-view counts (no IP, no user ID).

Your rights

  • Export your data: email us and we will send you a JSON export within 7 days.
  • Delete your account and all related data: email us and we will action it within 7 days.
  • Make your profile private at any time from profile settings.

Children

CaseCompass is built for MBA students. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we'll surface a banner on the site and update the "Last updated" date above.
